Market Roundup: Jan. 22-23

A taste of what will be at area farmers markets this week:

THIS JUST IN/LAST CALL
Saturday's FreshFarm Market in Silver Spring will have mushroom and bacon agnolotti.

Saturday's Smart Market in Oakton will have meats, eggs, cheese and value-added products. Soup and barbecue for sale.

Sunday's Takoma Park Farmers Market will have creamed honey with cinnamon and cloves, 10 apple varieties, yellow potatoes, Beauregard and Japanese sweet potatoes and sweet onions. Twin Springs Fruit Farm will have second apples for sauce, juice and baking at a $1.49 per pound and $15 per half bushel (approximately 60 cents per pound); carrots in 2-pound bags at $4.75; potatoes in 5-pound bags at $4.75. Also, an end-of-the-season special for German white garlic: Three heads for a $1.

Sunday's Smart Market in Gainesville will have meats, eggs, cheese and value-added products. Soup and barbecue for sale.

Sunday's FreshFarm Market in Dupont Circle will have mustards, kale, chard and arugula from Tree and Leaf; Twin Springs will have carrots; Copper Pot will have celery root soup; Eco-friendly Foods will have goat meat.
