Charge in shooting near Howard U.

D.C. police announced an arrest in the fatal shooting Oct. 22 of a Capitol Heights man who was killed last month near Howard University Hospital.

James D. Sandidge of Temple Hills was arrested Monday by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force on a warrant for second-degree murder. Sandidge allegedly shot Keenan Jerel Lee, 20, just after 10 p.m. in the 2200 block of Georgia Ave NW, near V St NW.

The shooting happened during Howard’s homecoming weekend, but university officials have said the incident should not be linked to the festivities.
