One week after Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles tendon during individual workouts, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost second-year defensive end Da’Quan Bowers to the same injury.
Bowers tore his Achilles while participating in the team’s offseason training program, according to a report from the NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora.
The 22-year-old former second-round pick played in all 16 games his rookie season, recording 25 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. He will undergo surgery Friday, according to the report.
Suggs, who had surgery on his ankle Tuesday, said he expects to return to the field by November at the latest.
